Judith Katzen Named Director of Rehabilitation Services at Lighthouse Guild

NEW YORK (March 4, 2021) – Judith Katzen, MSW has been named Director of Rehabilitation Services at Lighthouse Guild. In this role, Ms. Katzen will lead the Rehabilitation Department, which helps people who are blind or visually impaired obtain skills needed to navigate their world, manage their day-to-day activities, learn adaptive technology skills, attain their education and career goals and remain engaged in their communities. She will work closely with the New York State Commission for the Blind and serve as the Coordinator on Record for the administration of the New York State Education Department High School Equivalency TASC (GED) exam.
The Rehabilitation Services Department at Lighthouse Guild is guided by the knowledge that people of all ages who are blind or visually impaired can lead productive, meaningful, safe, and independent lives. It offers a range of programs including independent living skills, orientation and mobility, academic and communications skills, adaptive technology training, youth services, and career services to help participants explore all the possibilities and reach their goals.
Ms. Katzen joins Lighthouse Guild with over thirty years of experience in educational, vocational, health and long-term care services for people with disabilities. She was most recently Director of Catholic Charities Community Services at Catholic Guild for the Blind. She has also held positions as Division Director of Cerebral Palsy of Westchester, Director of Adult Day Services and New Initiatives at ARI of Connecticut, Inc., and Director of Individualized Service Options at the Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State.
